Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is typically defined as a genetic disorder involving the hemoglobin of people with the infliction. Over the past decade, dozens of clinical studies have indicated that correcting SCD’s genetically modified hemoglobin may involve dangerous surgical techniques and treatments. Several new drugs have also entered the market following US FDA approval, but none seem to be overwhelmingly effective.
